| Breaking News |  | Bowen Tosses Shutout Against Sounds
Monday, June 24th, 1991: "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Oklahoma City skipper said after Ryan Bowen shut out the Nashville Sounds 4-0 on a 1-hit masterpiece.
Bowen registered 10 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well...or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said the Nashville manager after the defeat.
This season Bowen has compiled a 6-5 mark, 3.05 ERA and made 11 starts. |

Monday, June 24th, 1991: In a very impressive mound performance, Wade Taylor stopped the Indianapolis Indians cold. The 25-year-old Dukes hurler blanked them on 5 hits to post a 5-0 triumph.
His record this season is 10-3 in 16 starts and Taylor has a 2.47 ERA. |

Monday, June 24th, 1991: At the age of 27, Rick Wrona might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Richmond catcher put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .522 batting average. For his efforts Wrona collected the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 12 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBIs last week in 6 games.
In this current campaign Wrona is hitting at a .324 clip with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs. |
